This car is kind of like an old Adam Sandler movie, nobody will argue it’s a great movie, but it is cheap entertainment. No one is going to argue this is a classy or beautiful or coveted car, but relatively cheap and could be kind of fun.  Nice Price.

So if you are going to drive it you might as well buy a higher mileage (but still low mileage and pampered C4 Corvette) for a lot less money. If I was going to spend $50,000 for a car to lock up and admire in my garage to swoon over from time to time this copper topped Corvette would not be it.  Maybe a museum would

Beat me to it, I may be behind the times but I thought you could still get nice ones for quite a bit less than that, but I haven't seen one for sale locally for a long time.

As of my vote at exactly 50/50. This caddy looks to be clean, original, and rust free. A 60s caddy in similar shape will cost much more, and these end of the era, gas-guzzling dinosaurs have nowhere to go but up.

The seller can’t be bothered to clean out snack bag and seat cover that appears to sporting a butt crack sweat stain to take more flattering pictures of the car? I am all out and grossed out. No Dice.

I have been aware of these for some time, and they have always been kind of hard to figure out small european two seater, minimal, weather protection or creature comforts, but it’s not a sports car. Styling sort of looks like a Jeepster.

Minivan owner is a tripod

Agree, as long as the frame wasn’t tweaked, everything else is just bolt on to get good as new (mechanically anyway). There is one advantage to buying a vehicle with old tires (don’t know on this one, comment is buying in general), tire wear can tell you a lot about alignment and suspension wonkiness or lack thereof.

Resale is crap, fat fingers and autocorrect don't mix

I agree with most everything you said, couple additions, if it has continued it's life for several years and lots of miles after the salvage title that is a good sign, an end of life, you are probably the last owner vehicle doesn't matter as much, as you will likely sell it for scrap or parts when it dies, so resale

The biggest concern about salvage titles is of course 1) It wasn’t fixed right; and 2) your real is crap.

“three tons of vehicle" thanks autocorrect

I had an old 90s Ranger, standard cab, 184" long, or about a foot shorter than a new Maverick, could fit plywood in the back with the gate down. Most modern full size trucks don’t have an 8' foot bed either.

My personal mission and pet peeve.  The Maverick isn't a small truck, it is a mid sized truck, The Ranger is a big truck, and full sized trucks are huge trucks.  If a slightly height advantaged man can't see over the hood of a vehicle (such as full sized American trucks) it is huge.  They don't sell small pick ups in

When we had a minivan 2 + 1 + 3 was pretty much the default, we needed more than 4 pretty often, but seldom needed more than 6, and the access and extra room for the rearmost seat was great.

The prices (or at least asking prices) may be up, but I would prefer my beetles a little older with the smaller bumpers, and a little more stock, the wheels and interior dash insert just aren’t doing it for me. Though becoming less common, there are still quite a few around, so you can be a little picky. No Dice, but

A round of applause is due, pretty well stated.  Do they make cars in Canada still?

Rumor I heard was we are getting Alpines, but not fun Alpines.

Pretty sure that's a Firebird dude...(kidding)

We got a 2022 Crosstrek too, the CVT is my only real worry about it, but my wife liked the package and size better than anything else we looked at so what can you do.
