Plenty of people in their right mind would buy either one. If cargo space and MPG we’re the only consideration in driving a vehicle we would all drive Transit vans. Some people have street parking and shorter vehicle wins, some people like to drive and better handling, lower vehicle wins. Some people need to haul

I’d still rather it be a 2 ton vehicle with collision avoidance (rather than 4.5).  You can compare it to an old Accord, I will compare it to a new, smaller vehicle.

Exactly I call it the vehicle size nuclear arms race, with every generation bigger than the last so that people can feel safe and have a "commanding view of the road".  People making things as perceived better for themselves are making it actual worse for everybody.

I don’t really consider myself an environmentalist, but I am a conservative in tbe old fashioned sense that I don’t like to see resources wasted. If Excursion size and capability is really what you need on a regular basis, ok, good for you, but most people really don’t.

I remember these cars, and always thought it was a nice looking design. Combine that with RWD, and Toyota reliability and you have a pretty desirable package.

So you made me scroll back up to the title of the article, nowhere do I read, "that no one has ever heard of" or words to that effect.

I know, I know, taste is subjective, but in who’s mind do those wheels make the car look better? The kind of mind I don’t want in charge of taking care of the expensive, complex, German car I am thinking of buying.

The new Maverick really isn't small at 200 inches, but in my mind it is a step in the right direction.  Hope it does well.

The thing is there are hardly any vehicles that are small and cramped. Way back in the 80s there were some foreign cars six foot me was almost hitting my head on the roof in the driver’s seat. Now there are hardly any cars six foot tall me can’t fit comfortably in the back seat in. I haven’t tried a Mitsubishi Mirage

Yes, I got a rid in one a few years back, I thought I must be in a 5 series.  New ones are about the size of a 5 series from 20 years ago.

I am agree with you 100%, but I talk to so many people who just think a "tiny car like that" is cramped, uncomfortable, not good for much.  Maybe part of it is generational, but I remember cars that were cramped uncomfortable and unreliable, they really hardly make those anymore.  Also, had a 67 B-GT many years ago,

I can't, but the sorting functions for comments are sort of wonky, so who knows.  Triumph TR250 with some mild modifications.

I was on the fence with this one, I feel it stays pretty true to concept which is good, but the details swing the needle to no dice territory.

I made a fairly innocuous comment about the content here plus posted a nice picture of my cars.  While I don't expect a response because it was so late after the article, didn't expect it to get zapped, but appears to be gone.  Not cool.

Isn’t the obvious answer solidarity with Ukraine?

Hey Steve, picture of the cars in the drive by way of greeting.

Username checks out, I have come very close to pulling the trigger on an X1/9 a few times.

If have the itch to get an 80s Italian exotic just get a Ferrari 308 be done with it.

Look, you put a 327 in an old Nova that came with a straight six, you have probably added value to the car. Easy swap, factory offered it that way, it is an old car at the point where everything probably needed to be redone anyway.
