I can assure you that you having been homeless and being a Latino immigrant does not speak for an entire population in poverty. Sure your opinion is valid doesn’t mean it’s true for everyone however. Nor is it proof that healthy diets are easy for the majority of people in poverty to achieve.

I asked you that question in order to prove a point that your personal experiences wouldn’t speak for an entire population(spoiler: they don’t and didn’t), and did you read the article?

Exactly and most people living in poverty don’t have the means nor time to spend to procure what is necessary for a healthy diet. Time costs money and the added cost of time is what makes eating healthy so difficult.

Sigh. Produce also tends to expire a lot faster than grits and processed foods; in terms of value for time and money produce is not the best deal, and as someone has also commented it is not the sole consideration in a healthy diet. Don’t think you’ve ever experienced poverty, not that that’s a bad thing.

It’s not easy to eat healthy for cheap unfortunately.
