Oh yeah. Right enough about OBD1. But agree on your point about the mechanic not noticing. Then again, I should have noticed when I bought the damn thing!
The second time today I've posted on Jalopnik about my old Miata. Paid $2500 for it, drove it for two years of unreliable operation, sold it for $1700. For an $800 investment I can put up with a little breakdown from time to time. Especially considering the fun I had with that car. Best money I ever spent! I have a…
Believe it or not, a Miata. 1994 M Edition pictured above. In two years I owned it I had a crank angle sensor failure on the day before an overseas vacation which wasn't properly diagnosed because the previous owner REMOVED the check engine light and the mechanic didn't have presence of mind to plug in a scanner (no…
I had a Cobalt SS Turbo with the 2.0L Direct Injected engine. I had to have all four fuel injectors replaced under warranty at 30,000 km (18,000 miles) due to carbon buildup. I spent most of my time in stop and go city traffic and driving very short distances to work (3-5 miles one way) so the engine was barely warmed…

I'm not sure the mirrors are big enough...
A stump-pulling 6.6L Duramax/Allison engine/tranny swap? That's surely a cheap thing to do!
If Top Gear is cancelled, the Argies win! Do we want that?!

Wasn't Mullaly driving one of these years ago?
When I was nine, my Uncle Paul bought a brand new 1990 Mk. II GTI. Golf ball shifter, Recaro seats, BBS wheels, and a Balupunkt cassette stereo where the whole head unit pulled out. Up until then, my experience with cars was my Dad's orange Chrysler Sunbeam and his nine year old Vauxhall Astra 1300. I didn't know cars…
I'd like more of that shot at 0:48. Preferably in a nicely rendered gif.
