I'm surprised there's not some phone number to call the railroad to let them know your car is stuck with some code so they can identify the location of the crossing (incase you don't know where you are) and get the word out quicker to avoid a collision. But I suppose leaving it to the 911 dispatcher works too.
I'd take my $300,000, get in my brand new Taurus, drive my ass to California, and start over somewhere sunny!
With the CVR and FDR recovered in short order, and given that the aircraft - and hopefully those safety systems - were new, there should be plenty of info on what went on in that first few minutes of the flight.
A combination of cheapness, experience and chicken-shittedness means I'd never consider buying a car sight unseen. Especially something old.
They've been on sale in Canada for two years now. I see them everywhere.
I owned a 1994 M Edition and currently own a 2005 Mazdaspeed. I love/d them both but for different reasons.

Will it four-wheel drift?
Red taillights are fine in Canada but they're sticky about DRLs. Back when the dollar was at par I was looking into importing cars but the 6.1% duty basically cancelled out any deals. You'd have to get into some really pricey or rare stuff to make it worthwhile.
The big concern is GM Canada won't honour warranties on newly purchased vehicles from the US. They have to be registered in service in the US for at least six months prior to importing to Canada. That's a lot of liability to expose yourself to if something breaks and you have no warranty coverage. I'm also not sure if…
I recommended the V60 to someone who was looking at an Audi Allroad. I'd much rather stand out in the crowd a little and in red, the Volvo looks awesome!
And if Chevy would bring the SS to Canada, I'd be perfectly happy to pick up a used one in a few years' time. Small block Chevy V8, manual tranny and a MRC? Yeup!!…
