Lived there for 2 years, had a good paying job, fucking hated it. It is, and always will be, a cesspool shithole.

Also an engineer (aerospace industry) and I have to design in “weak” areas often. The intention is to protect more expensive (and safety critical) systems in the event of unexpected out of spec operation.
Hell, you don’t need to go high tech here. This sort of design philosophy is pretty common. See: shear pins/bolts…
Guaranteed they are scabs.
(Yes, I know this not the technically correct. But hey, if they aren’t in the union and they are writing for deadspin after all the union writers quit...what exactly are they?)
The best part is the dude was definitely of Indian descent and not native to Texas. I’ve dealt with my fair share of stupid shit in Texas having lived here most of my life...but I encounter this regularly in almost every other state (fwiw, Georgia and Kansas are far worse based on my personal experience. Boston was…
I did report the driver, but I do not have much confidence anything will happen to him. It is my word against his after all.
Also, I flew in from Florida lol.
I’m not a driver but when I attempted to get a Lyft ride yesterday from DFW airport the driver pulled up and point blank asked me when he got out of the car to open the trunk if I’m Chinese...and then drove off after I said no. I am over 6 feet tall, half korean, with a Texan accent (having grown up in Texas).
Not enough rust and it’s likely to work right off the bat. David would only be interested if the battery was punctured and the whole chassis is just a smoldering lump of metal in a junkyard.
It’s not for people that would use a truck for truck stuff.
This looks heavily influenced by the Range Rover Evoque....
LOL, ok. Yea....no they are not. Most of this concept design will not make it into a production vehicle.
The correct answer would be for David to give this poor man his Jeep back.
Using this logic Tesla and every other car manufacturer can disable any all all functions controlled by software, to include basic vehicle operation and engine management, because you are not the original purchaser.
According to Tesla themselves the car was tagged after they sold it via auction.
Honda cannot up and remove the software that controls my infotainment system in my car since I was not the original purchaser. That is removing a tangible feature of the vehicle.
Car manufacturers have made claims they still own the software in the car as to not allow people to tinker with it, but they cannot just up…
Does not fucking matter. It was configured with those features and they didn’t own the car when it was ‘flagged’. This is bullshit.
It’s called “Taking their fucking drivers license because they are clearly a danger to others on the road”
I’m not kidding, I just snorted my lime green monster upon sight of this thing. Jesus fucking christ this is ugly.
China is the perfect labor market for bringing in new design and engineering talent to Tesla. They can overwork and underpay them all they want...you know...the two reasons why US Tesla technical staffing has such high turnover.
That’s what happens when MBAs start running companies after engineers and line workers build it.
I have sat in an ER for 5 hours before seeing a doctor with a bone protruding from my arm. This doesn’t surprise me one bit.
