If you are paying cash, aggressively negotiate to an acceptable price with the understanding you will finance the car. Then pay it off as soon as the account is up and running.

Just make sure there are no early payoff penalties (I have never seen any, but supposedly some unscrupulous banks still try to slip them in).

I have never known anyone to be in pain while driving barefoot. Unless there’s a condition there that causes you pain this just baffles me.

Fair enough, though you’re obviously an exception to my comments here.

Yes, I currently own a C6 with a particularly stiff clutch. And yes, I have driven it barefoot. I suppose if I had it at a track for a few hours I would get a blister or something.

I learned to drive in a shitbox manual civic (which was also my first car), and my barefoot hillbilly feet drove that thing just fine.

“It actually hurts to push the pedals, without the soles as cushions.

Literally never. Delta cancelled a flight and after 3 months of it “processing” I had to convince my credit card company to let me dispute a charge despite it being way fucking beyond the 60 day limit (the ticket was purchased a month before the cancelled flight). Citi let me dispute the charge and I haven’t flown in

I was thinking this was merely going to be another David Tracy “I bought a giant piece of garbage, it’s a hopeless unfix-able mess, and it’s also given me tetanus”.

Yet....we are treated with a story of success. Bravo David, Bravo.

Somehow, he actually has a PhD so the title sticks no matter if he’s practicing or not.

Is entirely possible they had a working design but the bean counting vampires saw they could save 8 cents by not implementing it.

I would buy this

If you read the report it’s even more damning.

“According to FDOT records from 2013 through 2018, neither Louis Berger U.S., Inc., nor its predecessor—Louis Berger Group, Inc.—was qualified by FDOT for work type 4.3.1. Additionally, FDOT records indicate that Louis Berger Group, Inc., applied for work type 4.3.1 in

For the design and review oversights...every licensed PE involved in this project should lose their license permanently, at a minimum. Jail time should be on the table for the bean-counters at the contractor and the independent reviewer.

OU Engineer? Name checks out.

The inspection and repair will be faster than the red tape involved. A few months is more likely.

Customers reported that they sometimes heard Smith being beaten and screaming for his life”

Yet they still fucking ate there??

A modified F-104 did it with a water/ethyl injection. See Darryl Greenamyer and his “Red Baron” F-104. The official record is 988 but a faulty camera couldn’t validate the unofficial ‘record’ 1010mph run he made a month earlier. With that said, this was done about 60 ft above the ground in Tonopah Nevada, so we are

Wrong, there are several military aircraft capable of 900+ mph at sea level. Hell even the F-104 hit Mach 1.3 (988 mph) on the deck.

If this guy hits 1000mph, then yea..sure. But until then it’s all talk.

I am engineer and I regularly get onto my team for ‘gold plating’ shit. So yes, this is true.

This is how I buy cars. I send a spreadsheet outlining my expected price, taxes, incentives, options, and financing terms. I lay it out as a take or leave it. 9/10 dealers balk but usually someone bites.

Jet lag is a thing even when you’re just going over the pond. No matter how many times I make that trip I always feel like shit the next couple days.
