Have you seen greenfax.com? Nothing free, but, credits never expire. I added $25 back in 2006 and still send faxes at 7 cents a page on that same $25. Perfect for Doctors and banks who are slow to upgrade. It is as simple as sending an email to faxnumber@greenfax.com with a passphrase in the subject.
