on the other hand, the most overated power output is any civic with a “cold” air intake and an exhaust. the “gentleman’s agreement” here is that in combination these add 50+ horsepowers
I am honored that you made a post about this. You did a lot more justice to the topic of rotary valves than most people do. Most just assume it is a Wankel rotary engine.
May I suggest for your next project that you try sleeve valves? That should provide hours of toil and frustration too!
Well the 1997 model is slow by today’s standards. The 1999+ one is still not bad by today’s standards.

Really, it’s because when I get a perfectly rev-matched heel-toe downshift, I feel like a god-damned hero, and it doesn’t matter what I’m driving or how fast I’m going. I actually drove 2 Ferraris (360 and 430) on a track for about 20 minutes. I had WAY more fun thrashing a 5-speed Hyundai Accent on the same track.
Porsche is the only company in that group still offering cars with a manual transmission. I’d still pick a base 911 or a Boxter over something with flappy-paddles, because I’m old and grumpy.
