Do we know how long Naz was passed out for? If he was passed out for hours they could even argue that he left the scene of the crime during that time to dispose of the murder weapon then returned when the neighbor saw him breaking in.

I'll have to re watch the episode but didn't we see him smear wet blood on the cab during the traffic stop? Also he might have cut his hand when he broke the glass on the door so he could retrieve the knife and his jacket.
