Yeah, and why buy a gas stove right now either?

Thank you. This isn’t one of those Hotcars-esque sites that just shoots out cliche lists of cars, we actually know things here.

Yeah there’s a lot of parallels that make complete sense to me and explain the weakness of the New Republic. The Empire is definitely paralleled to 1930s Germany and the Soviet Union’s global domination plans with complete control over the people, and the New Republic is less on the lines of a country’s government and

A better choice would be Lucid. They’re used to cars that don’t sell and depreciate like rocks.

Claim free insurance is up on average 14% in my area. Gas was 4.19 for me for most of last year and it’s 4.59 now. They’re up, but not way up. Every week they have at least one of these articles that makes it seem like everyone’s being forced to spend thousands of dollars more on their cars, and it’s all very heavily s

Enough with the scare articles. The average yearly cost of car ownership did go way up in 2023... for people who bought cars in 2023.

And Obi-Wan tracking Jango Fett in AOTC...

Maybe our grill just sucks, but while the actual cooking part is super simple every other part of grilling is arguably harder than an oven or stove. At least on our grill, the temperature is hard to modulate, and if there’s any chill in the air or wind it doesn’t like to stay consistent. And that’s not even talking

Never got delivery from Panda, but isn’t that the exact same thing that all the delivery apps do? Haven’t used one in years but I remember seeing minimal delivery fees then the final price being at least 30% more because of bullshit service charges.

I only go to self-checkout if:

This might be a hot take, but with the rock bottom of running and driving cars going from around $1,000 to at a minimum $2,500-$5,000, $10,000 seems about right for anything that’s really well preserved and low mileage, regardless of its collectability. Will the next owner preserve this in museum condition? Probably

The thing with Vinfast though is, they’re probably undercutting by a good amount in their own market. If I remember right there are some pretty substantial import taxes in Vietnam for cars, so they get business by being cheap there. The stupid thing was they probably looked and said wow we have a best selling car here

We can be enthusiasts and still care, but want to have an escape. Not every medium has to rub the world’s wrongs in your face. Cars, and reading about cars, is an escape for people just like other forms of entertainment. And as an escape, people don’t want to be reminded of everything bad in the world while enjoying

Porsche is an anomaly though, I’m thinking more of the other European competition like Jag, BMW M, Maserati, AMG, where a large repair isn’t unheard of and accepted as a gamble worth taking for the buyer.

Another thing, back then $80k put them in reliable Corvette Z06 territory for competition. $120k is “it’s not expected to be a reliable sports car” territory. So when the transmission needs to be replaced and they deny your warranty because you used launch control once, a $20-30k repair is less of a concern.

Without taking experience as a modifier, yes the youngest are always the worst. But when you get more experience, you should get better, so any generation that’s older yet not better drivers and “should know better” would arguably be worse.

Yeah there’s a lot of calculations for that, a Tahoe might be a lower liability premium than a Miata, but it’s certainly more expensive to repair so collision and comp might be higher on the Tahoe.

Yeah it’s millennials for sure. Old enough to have been driving before all the connected stuff was in all cars, young enough to have been irresponsible with texting while driving before all that stuff was in cars. And old habits die hard, so they still do it. Also 25-34 is the approximate age range of most buy here

They’re that cheap because you’re probably getting a 4-speed GM automatic at that price.

I was corrected a few days ago on this, good ones are not $25k anymore. A nice later model S or S4 with a manual and under 100k miles will probably be double that.
