In fairness, we live in a world where any horror in the supernatural and surreal is increasingly mitigated by science and fact. If you want to tell a horror story that viscerally effects people, you've got a few options: torture, mutilation, rape, or murder.

I'm wondering why you found the rape scene in this episode so lazy and unimaginative when since rape is a very REAL occurrence, anything less than a REAL portrayal would be absolutely insulting.
