I agree with you and would add, they act like Bernie just sprang out of Zeus’s head in 2015. Bernie has been around a long time. Exactly. My children are so cool with things that still make me check my biases that it amazes me, but hey, there are still young assholes out there so, “disaffected youth,” etc. etc.

It’s almost as if, when you break it down, people can still be individuals who do not make the whole of a generation, but still understand that, as a population, the youth of today understand a whole lot more about impending and current threats to their lives than you give them credit for. Huh!

I’ve heard the same (and experienced it) from colleagues from the Netherlands, Norway, and Denmark. They truly don’t get false politeness when it serves no purpose, are intently but fairly direct, and I love them for it.

Thank you. I feel much better today and it felt good to get such positive feedback here. Many moms (and dads!) do it alone and there is never a break, but in the end, we love our kids and our kids feel that love. Phew.
