I love this. Should have more stars.

He has a pretty sharp Twitter account that is persistently and accurately lambasting trump et al. I liked Dean and I still do.

I can’t wait to see this! I feel like that trailer pretty much showed everything, but I’ll still watch the hell out of Linda Hamilton, my icon. The rest didn’t look too bad either.

This is a timely piece, as my campus is in contract negotiations right now (we have no contract as of the start of the semester), and the admin has been working extra hard to shut down the union, including not approving overload teaching, not paying out stipends for program participation (such as in faculty

Don’t believe the hype about Harvard or any other so-called prestigious university. Their bread-and-butter is legacy enrollments and fluffing up their numbers to bag more endowments. The only good thing they do (for the optics) is fully fund first-generation and under-represented minorities.

I’m convinced they actually never listen to him talk or read about his interviews. If they do, it’s all spin and fake news, because they can’t allow themselves to believe he’s really this stupid.

You’re absolutely right. Sanderson was exactly like a monkey at the typewriter.

I was fatigued by the 7th book anyway, but since I was that far invested, I wanted to read them through to the end. I regret that.

Sanderson and the estate made the decision to publish everything Jordan had (I referenced this). My opinion is that it was a bad decision and the final books were terrible.

I didn’t say Sanderson made it all up, in fact I referenced his interview when he talked about the decision to split it into 3 books because of all the material. My OPINION is that it was gratuitous and badly done. And I think that the final GoT books may be just as awful for much of the same reasons.

Perhaps he had lots of ideas and many of those would have been cut by editing, OR he would have published everything as is had he lived OR the estate and Sanderson wanted to get as much money out of the rest of the material as they could. All I know is that when I read them, they didn’t read the same, they felt like

Off topic but since you brought up the Wheel of Time series...I seem to be the only one who thinks that Brandon Sanderson just badly extended a story that should have been near complete. He claims it was from too much material, but the last three books were painfully slow and added nothing but clutter to an already

Why are you here?

Yeah, they did not get what they paid for.

Nothing matters.

They never can sit up and see what’s staring them right in the face.

There is an NHPR podcast called “Supervision” which is ostensibly about a violent criminal with a drug and alcohol history and his experience getting out of jail and on parole. It’s a terrible podcast. Don’t listen to it. The “reporter” becomes way too close to her subject, she victim-blames the convict’s ex-wife when

I, for one, believe him. He did cure windmill cancer.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I truly know how devastating it is.

My mother was in a nursing home with hospice care her last four months. Those nurses were angels and she received excellent care, on a completely government funded health care plan. Maybe don’t paint them all with the same brush; I cry for the level of care they gave my mother, without any wealth or extra
