It makes sense. Phones are much more powerful than the Switch so they should be getting more games.

My problem with buying games on Apple hardware is that compatibility gets broken, and Apple’s own love affair with games is on-and-off. Every once in a while they pay lip service to games but it is almost an afterthought for them most of the time.
What about MGSV?
Sure, it’s the developer’s prerogative. It's not the first time this type of thing has happened. They could even use a character creator. Or a different character, like Maximo instead of Arthur in a GnG game.
Nice catch, that was a good read. It makes sense that digital storefronts are facilitating this and elevating indie developers. To the gamer, if they can provide a compelling experience it doesn’t matter if they are a big publisher or not. I’ve enjoyed just as many hits from smaller devs as big ones recently.
It doesn’t matter to me. Peter Parker looks different in different movies and it doesn’t bother me. Same with Batman, and many other comic book characters. Even in the comics they look different depending on who’s drawing.
I will wait for a remake because this version doesn’t sound like it adds much over the first remasters or even the originals.
You’re right that they use both thumbsticks, but when that’s the case they use shoulder buttons. If they use the buttons with that then you need the claw grip, and there’s no way you can argue that’s better ergonomically. This is when back buttons come in handy no matter what type of setup you use.
There really aren’t many 3D platformers, and the one consistent thing you will hear about those is fighting the terrible camera and having to use a claw grip to use both the camera stick and buttons. This is also why back buttons are gaining in popularity, to avoid that.
I think just having one on the left with your left hand and one on the right with your right hand is enough to compartmentalize it.
If the left thumb stick is central, then it should be lower where the thumb can more easily reach it, instead of at an awkward angle and further away to where it feels weird to extend your thumb to tilt forward.
Why would they use the asymmetric setup? I’m not a fan, it’s uncomfortable for me to reach up that high with an analog stick. A d-pad works better in that position because it is low profile and doesn’t require you to extend so far.
I don’t find those micro transactions comparable to NFTs the way they were messaged and promised. These micro transactions are one-offs not to be resold or traded, not meant to be taken from one game into another, not available on an independent blockchain.
Shocked... Shocked!
The games I have work fine without updates.
I noticed. I can do all of that offline, and on any compatible console, on any user account.
They will be wishing they could simply get each game “a la carte”, with a simple purchase, maybe even used or at a discount later on.
I just want to buy physical because it’s guaranteed anyone can take the game off the shelf, put it in the console, and play.
I’m not sure how MS can tell how often I’m using my 360 or OG Xbox, since I use them offline.
If they want to shrink their footprint, it leaves room for someone else to take the mantle.
