The Xbox already gets debugging information even on normal games (for crash feedback purposes etc) so theoretically the dev mode should at least be able to access the same resources that any other game could.

They should fix that. They could make a dev VM that can take priority over and temporarily substitute for the game VM.

That’s really dumb, you have to pay to unlock developer mode and they restrict the performance of the hardware? Why would they even do that? You paid for the hardware and paid again for developer access.

Sony wants your money, but creative people have real inspiration to make cool things and it can be argued Sony has tried to foster freedom of creativity. They want money but the people there also want to make cool games and it doesn’t feel like the direction is driven by money.

For shmups I wish MS didn’t ignore their legacy. There were many on the 360 that aren’t backwards compatible (and many Japanese games in general from Xbox and Xbox 360). It’s too bad MS said they’ve stopped adding new BC games.

I guess I’m the opposite. I can’t stand 24fps video it's too juddery, but I don’t mind if a game is 30 for some reason, as long as it’s consistent.
