Might have to wait a bit longer to see the actual effects. Many games will be cross gen, even MS’s games for the next 2 or more years as they continue to publish games on the One. Their games will not exclusively target new hardware. We’ll have to see with third party games that try and push the envelope, but these

The price difference is reflected not only in the storage space but also on the GPU. Not only is the clock speed lowered but the complexity of the GPU logic as well, with 20 compute units on the Series S being dwarfed by the 52 compute units on the Series X.

I seriously doubt it. This isn’t just 1.8GHz GPU vs 1.5GHz GPU, but 52 compute units vs 20 on the S. This will be a potato box. They’re pushing developers too much with this one. Games will be dipping to 720p on dynamic resolution.

512GB storage for an all-digital box though, and the OS takes some of that space. You’ll be spending an extra $100 just to be able to keep more than 5 games on it at a time. I bet we find out the all digital PS5 costs around that much, and then you get the full power of a next gen system, not cut down performance.

If that’s the way it goes then keeping the One S and streaming games makes a lot more sense than getting a Series S.

It won’t though because things like collision and physics are done on the GPU. In reality the Series S will struggle a lot more with rendering, or GPU tasks for game logic will have to be pared back. As the generation goes on and they push the hardware, this will hold the Series back.

Right which just brings up the price to what you would probably pay for a discless PS5.

Instead of buying the S box and spending more on upgraded storage, either keep your current system and enjoy support for 2 more years and get a real next gen console. Or spend the same amount as S + extra storage and get a discless PS5 and have a full upgrade.

Y not both? Some people can’t play in VR and some games are not suitable for it. My kid and I love playing games in 3D. It’s cool that emulators let you turn that on for games, it makes for a ton of 3D content with no motion sickness. Minecraft works very well in 3D on a PC, official support would be cool.

512GB of storage for a digital only system? I wonder how much is left after the OS. I think MS might have compromised too much. People are saying how much the new consoles are underpowered compared to the new Nvidia 30 series and now MS has something even lower spec. Imagine releasing a console lower spec than the One

The GBA SP and DS Lite because they actually fit in my pocket and lasted a long time. Both had an excellent library.

You don't get all versions

They should just support stereoscopic 3D TVs and let us play that way in our actual living room!

They’re really going to say you can’t teach facts in school now?

any other training or propaganda effort that teaches or suggests either (1) that the United States is an inherently racist or evil country or (2) that any race or ethnicity is inherently racist or evil.”

Oh, so now instead of getting sent to a training session and being given another chance at their job, bigots will now be fired right away?

I apologize

The insulation cuts down on the fan noise. It also keeps all the bits from leaking out making sure more get onto the screen for graphics.

This will probably help a lot of people get into and enjoy the games more too.

People love to feign ignorance thinking that BLM means only black lives, or black lives matter most. It’s very telling that this is their default assumption, it says a lot about the way they think.
