By your definition stock brokers do not do real work lol. And seeing as how stock brokers are at the pinnacle of our societies work force in terms of compensation and prestige, I don’t think your definition is very useful.

I think the best comparison of Twitch streaming (and other YouTube-esque jobs) is to busking on a street corner. It is definitely work, and it can potentially be a living, but that’s rare. It’s such a chaotic income stream that most people should be strongly discouraged from using it as their sole source of funds.
