Dude, nominees are determined by media outlets from all over the world.

The mailman simulator in Death Stranding is not exactly going to be a genre and I believe Kojima isn’t referring to that when he said he’s gonna create one, but its asynchronous multiplayer(aka Social Strand System) bit has potential. However optional, it changes the game in very significant ways.

The gameplay is...

You don’t need to attack other types of games, this industry and its market are super diverse! But the quality of DS is undeniable. And I’m eagerly awaiting what more it has to offer. So far I’m almost done getting 5 stars in all of the clients in the starting region. It starting to get repetitive you see, but it’s a

I guess, IGN giving it 6.8, being a MAJOR outlet (garnering 1.8 million views on YT) made it seem that the game is divisive, which is weird, because IGN is not exactly the most reliable game review outlet.

I hate how repetitive it is, even the game is very much self aware about its tedium (keep on keeping up!) but it managed to keep me playing for hours and hours and probably my most played PS4 game (8 hours on one sitting). I mean, it’s supposed to burn me out like any other games, but it takes a long time before i

You deserve a star. Connection level increased.

Maybe when he said people don’t understand it, he meant that most people in the US, especially the public, had been making generalizations about this game ignorantly, swaths of them saying it’s just a walking simulator with a narrative. When in fact, it’s a very involved game.

You played the game?

A critic or two rated it at 3/10. Like WTF. There are more 9s/90s or 8s/80

I don’t know, because people might not get it? Or some nuance in his writing (in Japanese) were lost in translation? Because the guy is very much not a native English speaker and us players are relying on the localization of his games.

6.8, for controversy. It could have been 7. But that doesn’t create clicks.

At first, I was disappointed that it wasn’t an open world action game too. But when Kojima streamed the gameplay, I accepted that it was the actual game with a maybe very epic story. But the mechanics were there and what I’ve seen is deep and satisfying. A lot of people were bummed though, because we are so used to

If anything, the dude is getting better in designing game mechanics. Making a game out of delivering packages (coinciding that mundane stuff with larger than life story) is him just flexing his game designing skills. And that’s gutsy because for a lot of people, the gameplay isn’t as appealing as shooting people in

That IGN review made things a bit rocky for the game though, perception-wise, simply because it’s the outlet most people would go for reviews, making the game “divisive”.

Actually, Death Stranding isn’t as divisive as people make out to be. It’s just that edgy IGN review and some outlets. Most of them said that its a masterpiece or genre-defying. Those are probably hyperbolic but the game still got 84 on metacritic. With most of them being 9s and 8s.

thing is, your usual run n gun playstle is sort of thrown out of the window in this game, MW gunning for a more methodical playstyle than having people running around (again), shooting what’s in front of them, which to me looks boring and ridiculous as hell and only appeals to much younger players.

Still liked your entries last week, Bob.

Orphan of Kos is easily best waifu erm, best boss fight that God Emperor Miyazaki ever created.

MGS V? Living under the rock or something?
