Nobody’s calling them the messiah. I don’t even see anything remotely positive from any coverage featuring EGS, so there’s no need to assume people actually think of them as being ‘good’. I don’t know where you are getting that, I just find their rates as a boon for developers, and I want other storefronts to adopt…

Hmm, didn’t know about that Discord thing. Maybe they should have told people about it ‘cause it deserves credit as well. Like I said, any rate that is reasonable than 30% is fine with me. It was a standard. No one’s gonna say no because they were the sole Digital Storefront in the past. Ehem, every publisher has a storefront now.

While it’s cool that it has no upfront hardware requirement, I still want to play games without requiring internet connection.

They cancelled their E3 because there isn’t anything noteworthy to show. Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 won’t release for quite some time. The current generation is ending and everybody is preparing for the next year’s console war. That’s like saying Sony bought Take-two and Rockstar.

I don’t think it will include twitch per se. Because Youtube has its own streaming capabilities.

I can see this thriving in Japan, South Korea, and everywhere else with top of the line internet connection, but never in my country and most of the world. I don’t get it as well. Especially the throwing of money part (donation). It’s like people throwing money at dancers in clubs from what I’ve seen from some movies (tip).

Now that they are working on features that people said they are missing, the comment seems to have shifted into why they launched without them. Damn if you do, damn if you don’t. Just stick to Steam ‘cause there’s no use bashing a digital storefront because it’s competing with your de facto platform.
