I appreciate these kinds of discussion. Thank you, good sir. I hope for the best in this industry.

While the word “exclusivity” sounds bad, it is not actually limiting you in a particular hardware. All of them is on PC.. Although I get that people that are used to Steam want their games on the same platform. While I’m not exactly cool with those exclusives, I can’t stand an obvious monopoly either. The reason why…
Hmm. Saving everything for Playstation Experience maybe? So E3 is becoming more and more irrelevant then.
Nobody’s calling them the messiah. I don’t even see anything remotely positive from any coverage featuring EGS, so there’s no need to assume people actually think of them as being ‘good’. I don’t know where you are getting that, I just find their rates as a boon for developers, and I want other storefronts to adopt…
Hmm, didn’t know about that Discord thing. Maybe they should have told people about it ‘cause it deserves credit as well. Like I said, any rate that is reasonable than 30% is fine with me. Or you know, have Gaben man up and reduce that ridiculous rate already (rather than reducing it just for big sellers).
To be fair, I haven’t given Epic any money. I’m basically an outsider who wants to comment about these things without bias. If I could, I would use both.
It was a standard. No one’s gonna say no because they were the sole Digital Storefront in the past. Ehem, every publisher has a storefront now.
While it’s cool that it has no upfront hardware requirement, I still want to play games without requiring internet connection.
They cancelled their E3 because there isn’t anything noteworthy to show. Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 won’t release for quite some time. The current generation is ending and everybody is preparing for the next year’s console war. That’s like saying Sony bought Take-two and Rockstar.
I don’t think it will include twitch per se. Because Youtube has its own streaming capabilities.
Um, how about the rest of the world?
I can see this thriving in Japan, South Korea, and everywhere else with top of the line internet connection, but never in my country and most of the world. And I noticed that you still need to buy the game, basically, this won’t be like Xbox gamepass. More like a platform with free streaming of games that you still…
I don’t get it as well. Especially the throwing of money part (donation). It’s like people throwing money at dancers in clubs from what I’ve seen from some movies (tip).
Or you know, there’s reddit for that.
Now that they are working on features that people said they are missing, the comment seems to have shifted into why they launched without them. Damn if you do, damn if you don’t. Just stick to Steam ‘cause there’s no use bashing a digital storefront because it’s competing with your de facto platform.
18% cut. 82% to developers/publishers. That’s what.
I still don’t get why people watch streamers and donate money to see them play videogames. Is it more fun than playing it? Of course I do watch some walkthroughs from time to time to see how a certain game operates, but donating money to see someone play... super weird. Although it’s fine seeing some streaming top…
Let’s pray to Sun God Miyazaki to make it a reality.
Season 3 can’t come soon enough. Thunderbolt is one awesome mech anime. The best I’ve seen.
.... until they delve into the ‘new types’ non-sense.
