Well, maybe if we put a successful businessman, it would have been different. You don’t put in a guy with multiple bankruptcies, multiple failed business ventures, a guy who all but ruined Atlantic City and has a habit of not paying his bills in charge of anything bigger than a sidewalk lemonade stand (and no,

Trump is the worst thing to happen to the economy since 9/11.

If the GOP’s healthcare plan passes, it will be a huge gut punch to the economy, as millions of Americans see their healthcare costs go through the roof, so they stop spending. If Trump’s budget passes, it will be another punch to the economy, as social programs are cut, resulting in less money pumped into the

I saw it. It felt like a Slate article written for TV.

Frankly, Trump’s done more to reinstate the image of golf as a game for rich white douchebags than anyone else. I mean, look at the way he and his doughy pals seem to use golf carts as the only way to go from shot to shot. No wonder he was “exhausted” after doing just a days’ worth of public walking on his trip

I truly wonder if this is the trigger for a recession in our economy. It always seems to be something that triggers - oil prices, housing market, consumer spending, stock market. What if this time around its the drop in tourism money - I mean every state would be affected by it in some way?

That stat, regarding Middle Eastern and Asian tourism in LA is huge - and quite noticeable. Used to be if you drove through Beverly Hills on any given afternoon, the sidewalks were full of Middle Eastern and Asian tourists - with lots of shopping bags. Not only will this affect the obvious airline and hospitality

Kinja needs to up its emoji game. It’s pictures like this that make me long for a vomit emoji.

Anecdotally, it totally makes sense. My husband’s social group drives down to upstate New York every year but they’ve decided it’s not worth the potential hassle.

Anecdotal, but I’ve seen this phenomenon in real-life. Our sixth graders had gone on a trip to Vermont every June for the last decade. This year they’re staying in Canada and this is true for countless other schools as well. These are tens of thousands of tourists who would annually visit like clockwork.

I’ve seen this with my own eyes in my city. For some reason, it has been popular with rich middle eastern folks for the past 5-6 years. In the summer, our waterfront is full of families from the ME and they all utilized the Four Seasons so much that the hotel decided to expand and add 8 more floors and 2 floors of

BTW, this is a picture of a man who has strong opinions on how women’s bodies should look like.

Sometimes, I wonder if this was the real goal all along with the ban (in Bannon’s mind at least). They may not be able to get the executive order passed, but they can make the US seems like an unwelcome place abroad.

Come to America! Visit the Washington Monument and see the President’s camel toe!

Hmmm. It appears promoting a culture of isolationism and fear is not good for the economy.

Canadian organizations have already cancelled events and trips involving travel to the US - including the Ontario school board and Girl Guides of Canada. I personally opted to pay more to avoid a plane change in New York and instead fly with a brand name carrier on my vacation this year.

America is for Americans* only, made in America,** for America,* by America** and Americans.**

I want that to be real so badly, mostly because that is indeed the colour I turn when surprised. (Not the colour I turn when fucking surprised, mind, that colour is increasingly a pale and weary one.)

And by Americans, we mean Europeans who just showed up. Native Americans and others who came over with the Spanish don’t count.
