I agree completely, but I also think that it’s not really taking control of your own objectification when there’s literally a man asking you to get naked for the sake of your own empowerment. The artist’s identity matters here.

I see a lot of “woman gets nude to protest something or other” (especially on the HuffPo, which loves to cover those stories) but do not understand that. To me, women are already sexualized and treated as objects for men to gawk at rather than listen to, so “I’ll just get naked and that’ll show them” misses the mark
