It all looks so familiar. Seems like Sony found an idendtity. That «mature» look thats not quite bro-dude but also not indie hipster. Not sure how I feel about that, being myselv on the indie hipster side of the scale ;)

Pokemon Go still makes about $9 million dollars a day.
For fuck sake....Greene and Bluehole really are the jealous, petty little narcissists they seem to be, aren’t they? Hopefully they sue Activision next over the BLOPS4 battle royale mode, I’d love to see how that works out for them.
Ah, the classic “We can’t make a product to compete, so we’ll sue” tactic.
You’re missing why they have to lose this.
Someone is a sore loser
I know nothing about Korean copyright law so it’s possible they can find some path towards victory locally (which would make sense if they specifically chose that venue).
You mean in the same way PUBG took the concept from someone else.
I’ve played both... Fortnite is infinitely more fun to play. If Epic did do something wrong, I’m glad because they made a better game.
Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is 1) a second game mode (not even the primary one) and 2) is supposed to be a parody of PUBG... with more than a busload of personality and much less bland assets.
Yep, and their apology video only made things worse for them because apparently we “misunderstood” them lol
The primary reason Bluehole has to lose this case is because Fortnite is a derivative work with the derivation lying solely on the vague concept of what constitutes “battle royale” gameplay.
“Seemed”, nothing; that’s exactly what the FB wanted to do. And, on some level, it makes sense: they popularized the genre, built a multimedia empire off it, and wanted to make sure copycats on Youtube couldn’t get away with making one-to-one copies of their content on clone channels.
Well then, this move by Bluehole just made me abandon them completely. I haven’t played Fortnite before and I do own PUGB, but fuck shitheads like them if they want to be scummy like this. Fortnite, here I come, just in spite of Bluehole to increase your playercount.
These guys are on another planet... Yes, go after the mobile games that are very clearly using IP to hock shoddy wares. Fine. But Fortnite is not copyright infringement. It uses no assets from PUBG, it does not use any names, places or terminology associated with PUBG, and if they’re going to attempt to argue PUBG…
Ballsy, I like it. Hoping Epic can take away Bluehole’s Unreal Engine licence so they have to rebuild the game in Unity.
Oh boy. Remember the last time a company that used Epic’s engine sued Epic? Silicon knights remembers.
Well the only reasonable answer is that whoever finds that gauntlet and engages it will immediately remove half the players from the map AND get that boastworthy kill-count. Anything else is a half-measure, pun intended.
How long till someone makes a Harry Potter game using the structure of a Persona game?
Reminds me of Dorkly’s comic the Ages of Multiplayer.
