Well... in order to put the “deus ex machina” in perspective, you have to understand that Littlefinger probably didn’t want any inkling of an army to stand as a threat to his men from the Vale. In other words, he planned it that way.

They look a lot friendlier now that they’ve fed.

Me thinks Sansa will have to marry Littlefingers for saving them.

Has to be one of the best all-time GoT episodes i’ve seen.

Started off amazingly with the Daenerys i always envisioned, that talk with the Greyjoys (Yara, you smooth ass dawg) was amazing. The dragons...holy shit.
That Rickon scene was bad vibes.
That battle scene though, was one of the most well crafted i’ve ever seen.

I half expected Gandalf to be leading the army down into the Boltons wreathed in a halo of golden light.

The episode was fantastic on so many levels and I will save my overall view for the actual recap. I will say however that my only disappointment was the dues ex machina arrival of the soldiers of the Vale at the EXACT MOMENT that they were needed to turn the tide. I half expected Gandalf to be leading the army down

There must always be a Stark in winterfell.
