Yeah...no. Context. I've seen you do this before——argue some lofty ideal totally divorced from any reference to the world we really live in. We don't live in a world where there's 'people'——for far too many women, they're not considered people. We live in a profoundly sexist world where women are overwhelmingly

I LOVE this argument. It shows up in every discussion about statuatory rape, and ignores one crucial fact.

People like to ignore that he raped another girl at that party, but that's okay, because she was of age, so sucks to be her.

Oh, Jesus. I had a guy boast about doing that right in front of me.

Why in my mom in that picture with Terry Richardson?

I simply cannot imagine that life.

It took me about five phone calls to three police agencies and the FBI (twice) to get anybody to really pay attention to what I saying. He's not been shy about his gushing about very underage girls, and a friend of mine found that he'd re-offended at least once since his initial conviction. He's been molesting girls

Not if that's all we talk about. The whole 'OMG my girlfriend was six minutes younger than meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!' thing is rapidly turning into the "But let's talk about false rape accusations!' derail in discussions about rape. No thanks.

Oh, God, thank you so much.

Yeah, how often does that happen though? As I said above, how many of THOSE cases were plea deals?

I think it's a case of the outliers being talked about so often that the majority get overlooked. My neighborhood has a halfway house of sex offender registry guys, and they are most definitely NOT Romeos who were busted by their Juliet's parents.

Yeah, he keeps getting married....but none of them stick, do they? Also, he steals Viagra. I really don't want to think about Rush and his pilonidal cyst and his series of wives in bed, thanks. I haven't eaten breakfast yet.

Yeah, I was just reading a thing on my Kindle about one particular Catholic priest, and I have to say, I was kind of struck by how obvious it was that it wasn't until boys started coming forward that the molestation of children was taken seriously. Girls were molested, too, but hey, that was normal, right? /extreme

I hope that some of them will rework their laws.

I explained in another comment just above your other one and frankly, I just don't want to type that again.

Are you kidding? There's jokes about it all the time, as well as the oft-expressed view that certain folks will hopefully be raped in prison, as a kind of extra-legal punishment. What that says to me is that some people think rape serves a purpose as punishment, and that if some rapes are okay to those people—-many

Male-on-female rapes get treated whimsically or Very Very Seriously—-and some just don't get recognized as such.

I think they want the tit-for-tat aspect of it. The same sex assaults make them incredibly upset, because it doesn't fit into their women-are-evil worldview.

From my perspective, having dealt with those revolting MRAs for years, they simply refuse to discuss male-on-male rape, because their whole goal is not just justice but minimization of what men do to women——and maximization of what women do to men.

Your own advice works well, reversed.
