Rape is unique amongst other crimes due to the fact that it's historically committed by men against mostly female victims. it also is not typically committed by a hardened criminal. It's the crime of ordinary men.

The thing is, some guys are more advanced in their thinking than others....but how do you tell? There's no way to know in advance.
