Can I ask you - what do you think the purpose of punishment is? What good can come from any extra punishment?

You don’t think there are ramifications or consequences with which she’s dealing? She lost her fucking child. Why do you feel the need to punish her further? She’s not cruel. She’s not evil. It wasn’t intentional. What good would it do besides satisfy your own fucked-up desire for vengeance?

What good would putting her in jail do, though, unless you’re only interested in punitive measures? Without anything to correct, there’s no use in going to a correctional facility. If all you’re interested in is punishing someone who is already suffering greatly, you’re a fucking terrible person.

OK but what do we do about the adult racists who can’t understand this

nevermind - I removed everything else from my cart and retried it and it worked at the checkout page.

At the checkout page, or after you checkout?

Such a thrill watching him crush those HRs. Man I’m so happy.

White shirt guy was not the one who touched anything.

The guy wearing the white shirt has his hand on the wall to help him lean forward, ffs

ah, like he was faking the injury for some reason? That’s... very believable; people are morons. I didn’t notice it, but my section was light on the typical Boston Bro type that I would typically associate with being a dumbass.

I guess that’s possible but I didn’t notice any around me. I was actually surprised at how few people seemed to notice or care that he got up. It seemed like some sparse applause (I clapped) but mostly people just did nothing, at least in my immediate vicinity.

I was at the game and don’t remember anyone booing someone for getting injured

Guess we should go back to the old way where *checks notes* they would not have made the playoffs at all.

Yeah, and I wouldn’t expect him to regress much towards his 2015 numbers, let alone replicate them. I think Harper is very good, but it seems like he’s not hitting offspeed pitches nearly as well as he did in 2015. He’s hitting fastballs with the same authority, so I think there’s something else here besides just “luck

I am buffaloed by this sentence.

are we assuming Brady’s 2018 arm is as good as his 2007 arm

Not getting a report in on time is something avoidable you did wrong, and acknowledging how it affected the people who relied on that report is pivotal in a sincere apology. If you can’t recognize how it affected others, you’re more likely to repeat the same mistakes.

This whole article is how to apologize without being sincere. If you were actually sincere, you’d have to show empathy, i.e. not just admitting the mistake, but actually acknowledging how it hurt/affected people.

A real apology requires empathy; you have to acknowledge how it affected the person to whom you’re apologizing, otherwise it’s bullshit.
