I hated April SO MUCH, especially by the end of Parks and Rec. It was like she had to play the role of sullen goth kid even when she had outgrown it. So every scene with her had to have two riifs: first she had to make her make a snarky comment, then everyone smiles or calls her on it, then she gives the sincere

Speaking as a straight man who usually doesn't see what others see in the typical handsome men (George Clooney? nah)…David Gilmour was maybe the most handsome man in rock in his prime.

He aged pretty well though, I'd say he's legit handsome now.

I've thought a lot about this. I think coming out as gay would be the only thing.
Actually, when it was rumored (ridiculously) that he'd dance with Caitlyn Jenner at the Inauguration, I thought -THAT would do it for sure.

I totally believe he lasts at least the full 4 year term. All of this wishful thinking impeachment scenario-building is just what liberals did throught the whole campaign. It failed everytime.

I think they like having it both ways, honestly.

"I don't like Mulholland Drive."
Eh, I disagree, but it's all subjective….

Wow, thanks for sharing. That Cumberbatch-looking drummer is in the pocket!

It feels kinda sad to first learn about a guy from his obit, but I count myself as a fan now. Thanks for hipping me to this dude, AVC.

That's true! He's definitely the exception.

One of my favorite things about On the Line, quoted from IMDb:

I honestly think Bill isn't up to the task. Ozzy and Sharon are complete dicks, but I completely buy that he's not healthy enough. Lars Ulrich made an interesting statement about that "Oldchella" concert a couple months back…he said it was nice to see all these "classic rock" bands still at it, but he noticed none of

Even on that live album they put out 20 years ago, Ozzy didn't sing the higher part in "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" ("Wheeeeere can you run to?"). I'm sure there's a limited number of tunes he could pull off these days. I did think it was cool that "Under the Sun" and "Into the Void" were staples during this reunion

No shit: My grandfather used to use AOL trial CDs hanging from strings in his garden to scare off birds.

I hear ya. I probably don't know enough to understand keys, modes, whatever. The horrible sense of rhythm is maddening enough and I don't think I can see past it.

I agree that "Philosophy" is their best song. I just don't think "Hey, it's in a conventional scale!" is good enough. Before the internet, I would read descriptions on the album that, like yours, made it sound fascinating. It's easy to forget how rare and elusive this stuff was pre-internet.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm really trying to find anything even "almost" pretty in "My Pal Foot Foot" right now. Oy.

I'm not agreeing that all old shows are "mediocre at best," but you'd be surprised if you actually watch these shows with younger people. I don't think a rebroadcast of Abbot & Costello would be water-cooler conversation a la Stranger Things, Mad Men, etc. The Addams Family is good for a cute chuckle maybe. Not saying

The pacing, humor, and subject matter would make them tough for today's audiences. I don't really get the appeal of All in the Family. 1-2 episodes of Batman is enough to last you a while.

The intent discussion would be interesting if the Shaggs stumbled upon beautiful chords while fumbling around with their guitars. I am into agreat deal of outsider stuff, but the Shaggs sound like atonal shit, period. I know some people are into that! But the hyperbole about their genius is nuts.
