The last Pokemon game to take place in a region based on Japan was Diamond/Pearl. Sword and Shield takes place in a region that is a clear analogue for the United Kingdom. Bea is defiantly not Japanese, literally or metaphorically.

Despite her being a karate expert, Bea isn't Asian. There's been no evidence that she wasn't born in Galar, so she's actually British.

I barely remember the opening credits but the old school end credits with jon baptistes “green hill zone” definitely hit my nostalgia spot.

The splash screen was a neat touch but it made me think: Sega, if you’re not actually gonna do an MCU thing and makes those into movies don’t tease me. Read more

I can confirm that it’s there. It’s not 100% the old boot up version, but it was there. I remember it being like a choir singing it or something. I just double checked with my wife who was there and she confirmed as well.

...but it did. Didn’t it?!?!?!?

Someone else weigh in on this, but I SWEAR at the end of the title card in question, a choir of voices sang the company name.

Lady has the blue Lite while I have the OG. Honestly, I love the feel of the system, it’s lightweight, solid, and the screen has an excellent pixel density.  Not to mention, battery life is better than my OG.  Read more

I have both, and I’d definitely recommend the Lite over the main for someone who just likes being portable anyways. The screen is smaller, but I haven’t had any issues with any games, even those with smaller text (like Fire Emblem 3H, Divinity 2, and Civ 6... I haven’t tried the Witcher 3 though). The Lite is waaaay Read more
