I was at a small club show once where someone threw a glass at the band and the singer ran into the audience... To punch the wrong person. Everyone was shouting “it wasn’t him!” and the lights came on and that was that. I doubt you’re able to tell where in the crowd a projectile came from when you’re on stage.

There are characters who are fundamentally good but flawed. BJ probably applies most, even Kelvin in his own weird way. But I mean, this show gets to the humanity of even its worst characters. I understand if you aren’t into it (or the show’s brand of humor) but it’s not just relentless negativity and awfulness.

There’s also only so many opportunities to direct indie films and even after having a success there’s no guarantee you’ll ever get funded for another. 

It’s a big travel and party weekend. On the west coast it’s the first weekend that feels like summer. The reviews/recaps here barely matter any more but when they did, the binge shows never had many comments because they could never figure out the pace to put up reviews.
