Julia Roberts as Gaslit would be the perfect supervillain for Channing Tatum’s Gambit.

She started as a very performance artist doing experimental theater. I’m sure she’s a smart person but there’s no way she doesn’t have the troll gene.

Here’s how you take care of Hitler without murder: buy all of his paintings when he’s a struggling artist. Give him a stipend to make more. Moderately successful artist Hitler will disappear into obscurity.

I don’t know why but something about it makes me think she’s sinister or otherwise an antagonist.

He’s still a monster, but you can feel sorry for or even identify with a monster. Euphoria is an amoral show and I wouldn’t call anyone a hero or villain though obviously some characters are more outwardly terrible than others.

I mean, casting Martha Kelly as a drug kingpin is comedy genius.

It’s not realistic. It doesn’t completely accurately portray what it’s like to be 17 right now. Who cares? It’s stylish and audacious and funny and ridiculous and awesome. Why is “it’s not realistic” always the complaint? Reality sucks, I’m enjoying more and more shows that create their own alternate universes.

I think banning is/was a mostly Evangelical Christian thing but there are overzealous progressives who do it to, or at least did in the 90s version. See: the humorless strawman liberal Hank has to take down every third episode of King of the Hill.

I’m mildly outraged but banning a book in 2022 seems so retro 90s it’s almost quaint.

I think it was... In 1988. But that was long before social media so if the mainstream media stopped talking about it, it was out of sight out of mind. Now it’s ancient history I guess and he’s somehow skated on it like 70s and 80s rock stars seem to be able to.

Taylor Sheridan just sold three new television series based on this incident to Paramount Plus.

And a lot of that 99% will think Rice a Roni is the quintessential San Francisco dish despite no evidence there’s any food like that anywhere in the city.

In this case, the statement about Gaprindashvili is made by an announcer at a tournament.

Showtime seems to cut their comedies a lot faster than dramas. Yellowjackets will be around.

Yeah, hassle the people who hired him or didn’t replace him, that’s fair, but actors just want to work and take the jobs they can get. Especially on a movie— TV show productions are long term and they develop relationships but films are shot in weeks and you may not even exchange two words with another cast member.

Have you seen the show “Years and Years?” It’s kind of like Don’t Look Up but a little better (though I don’t 100% recommend it, the last episode is pure garbage). Point is, Emma Thompson has a role extremely similar to Streep and they do a great job of showing how someone like that comes to power.

Barsanti probably knows better than to read what we’re saying about him down here.

It’s odd because this seems to be a world that may never had have Christianity at all or if it did it disappeared 1500+ years ago considering they’re worshipping an ancient Roman religion instead. Or maybe Jesus in this world was Mithraic?

I’m just going to consider this performance an audition.

He didn’t write or create this, just EP and some directing so you can’t lay it all on him. The Last Duel was more than competent too. Obviously it’s a safe bet than an 84 year old is on the decline but I’m not blaming any problems with this show on his age.
