Travis is pretty on-brand for a 90s troubled teenage guy. I don’t think he’s the “best” or “worst”, he’s an accurate portrayal of a dude from the era who’s not internally enlightened enough to know how to fix himself and doesn’t have outside sources guiding or forcing him to improve.

Oddly enough that’s going to be Armie Hammer, but keep in mind the world will be a much more savage and cannibalistic place in 50 years.

Yeah, if he’d have been hired he’d have been gone with the rest in a year anyway. That divergent timeline is for all intents and purposes identical to our own.

Yeah I just cancelled Netflix as I realized I’m barely watching it. If they’d never raised their prices I probably would have just keep paying out of habit but the news actually did make me question why I’m still paying.

Netflix is worldwide and they’re masters of cross-culture content. They managed to do the impossible which is get Americans to watch dubbed or subtitled foreign TV shows. That was almost unheard of before, you’d never see something like Squid Game or Money Heist (god that name..) on American cable. They do spend a lot

I think “worth” is the key point, not just because he wants the money but because an actor’s salary is a direct measure of their fame and how much they are valued by the industry compared to their peers.

You’re just saying that because you’re a Jet. We Sharks know the movie is going to have a second life on streaming.

Same reason I don’t trust any director or actor or musician who says they’re retiring unless they’re over 80. The problem with saying “never again” is you have no idea what your life or career or headspace will be in a decade.

That’s a pretty decent-sized hole in the center, Dunkin may even be giving less food in a way that looks like you’re getting more (and just happens to be good for branding too).

At its core Justified is a pulpy detective series. Putting the cop/detective/PI/whoever is at the center in new situations and settings is what the genre is built on. I know the tone is extremely different but think of Detective Poirot being the only constant (mostly) in Agatha Christie books.

I kind of feel bad for McKay. A Twitter meltdown is like being in a rip tide where you’re guaranteed to drown if you put up a fight. Stop trying to plead your case, even if you made the most insightful point in the world you come off as desperate and flailing... Just ride it out and hope you can swim to shore.

But then it will all all Garfunkel, no Simon.

They can memorize & repeat. You can’t have a conversation with one.

It’s “Charlie Monroe”, of course.

I want to give Mia Goth the benefit of the doubt but being married to Shia LaBeouf makes me question everything she stands for.

There are cases like Manson, or like Louis CK who told us for years he was a creep in his standup and then actually was in real life, but I don’t think that’s the norm and most artists who deal in dark subject matter are as decent a person as anyone else. Which is to say maybe a little flawed but doing their best.

Yeah, and you really can’t underestimate how many teens and twentysomethings are “kinda vegetarian”, that’s a really common phase with a lot of bendy rules.

I agree when it comes to employers or clients trying to con you into working for free or cheap on the promise it will lead to “exposure” and a wonderful career later but this isn’t that. This is more like a comedian or band putting a video or song out there in the world for free.

I don’t know what he claimed he created or didn’t honestly. If he’s acting like this is a completely original game that’s obviously not right.

That, and games like Mastermind and Jotto from the mid 20th century, and even those are based on old pen and paper games. I’m sure there were similar codebreaking games around in the 19th century and maybe even earlier.
