Hush is still crazy creepy, but I think this sustained the creepy for longer and in slightly more creative ways.

Fair enough. Still doesn't explain why a similar dagger would work on Katherine.
When I got done watching the ep I was like "well that was boring" and wondered if it was just me…and apparently it wasn't. Good to know. Questions:
The biggest thing that made me not give a shit about Brooke winning was the editing. For weeks now they basically turned this into "Brooke's redemption journey." It sapped all tension and made me kind of resent her. There was just no need to harp on it for so long.
I fully agree, but to even have that seed of doubt be plausible is more than most shows can pull off
I love the fact that we can't even be sure if we're in reality or still in David's head.
Hah! Good point. But then this whole season has pretty much been a "fun until you think about it, then it falls apart" ride.
That would be an amazing twist, but the hand waving with all the magic this year has all reeked of "last season, don't care" so I put this up there with "if a syringe takes the cure from Elena's blood, how hasn't Stefan died from multiple traumatic blood loss and transfusions he's gone through" for lazy writing.
Kelly Donovon is apparently working for Katherine. I personally don't think we'll see her til the end shot of the ep (like Kai a few epa ago) since as far as I can tell, she showed up for the finale (not that they couldn't have filmed some extra scenes, but still)
Kai flat out SAID it's the worst thing in the world. But instead of using his psychosis as a "maybe he has a point" they're using it to ignore his point.
I was impressed that Ric managed to go from idiot (leaving Stefan hanging) to badass (fighting Kai) to idiot (let's make Hogwarts!) In the span of a single episode.
Given that there are still only ever 2-3 real contenders and that said contenders are never the populist fare there is literally no point in having more than 5.
The first season was decidedly weak, but the second season is very much worth a look if you're ever in need of something to watch - it's absolutely insane with half the Mikaelson family recast (for plot reasons that actually make sense and they got some great actors) but oh so good as it really looks at Esther and…
Rooting for Shirley, but given that the editing was so heavy on the Brooke redemption tour, I'll still be shocked if this happens.
Can we get a John Wick cameo instead? I think Deadpool could totally have a crush on him.
You much want to check out The Originals, especially season 2 and 3. Romance plays an important role in thr second and third seasons but less in moony eye way and more in people die and then try to resurrect them kind of way. It's definitely one of the least romance concerned shows on the net.
I feel (and hope) that this is what this episode is pointing towards - he unquestionably has powers, but I think the fact that he's seeing things that the others can't within the memories are pointing to the fact that he is also ill. I really do hope it's something to be explored because it could help turn this show…
I think that's because the CW shows have to be Superhero shows first and all the tropes that come with it. Right now Legion is a character study with some superpowers attached, and that lets it work on a level the other shows just can't.
2) Because the plot demanded it. There has been a ton of that this season. As much as I'm enjoying many aspects of this season, the lack of even trying to be logical is one of the biggest signs they're done.
It makes sense though - compulsions have ended upon the deaths of other vampires before, and becoming human is a form of death. That said, human Stefan has just been dull to watch and that whole storyline dragged the episode down as a whole.
