Even at the best of times. I worked for a while at international arrivals at a large airport. If a bag loses its tag, and either the owner forgets it or the airline misplaces it, no one wants it. Who has time to go through and itemize everything in hundreds of lost bags?

Ask that question of Karla Homolka’s lawyers, and the people who prosecuted her. Most people (i.e. most jury members) don’t believe a woman could be a willing participant in such things. Or if she is, they don’t believe she could be the ringleader.

Two weeks ago, Sullivan and Packer made a suicide pact and attempted to overdose on prescription pills. Instead, a woman who lived with the pair found them, and both were hospitalized.
