It helps if you click the link and read it in the context of the article, but you're way off here. She's saying "What I look like/how I look like it doesn't matter. It's been talked about before anyway. What DOES matter is that you always try to push yourself..." etc. etc.
Some people operate under the false assumption that the more overwhelmed you appear, the more important or valuable you are to the task at hand. This is bullshit, and is usually employed in an attempt to deflect blame. Sorry you have to deal with it on a regular basis!
