Absolutely correct. In addition, think about a restaurant server...You are actually not a contractor at all, but you are able to collect tips (some places)...that is just something you take in as part of the decision whether or not to work there.

Again, UBER is not a typical contracting job... Driving an Uber is not a contracting job to be more precise.

No one who works in an independent contracting role anywhere demands tips or additional pay from their customers.

Yeah but Uber isnt a traditional “job” either. Its not even fair comparing it to serving in a restaurant.
