You may want to sit down for this, but no one has a right to an acting career. Due process is for people facing criminal charges, since those can lead to being fined, imprisoned, or even being executed by the state.

The vast majority of states in this country are right to work states, which means there is no such thing as due process in getting fired. I think you may be talking about the legal system, in which case, this dude was “not canceled” in those terms.
Okay, I’m not quibbling with whether they “acted,” but pointing out it’s not acting on blind faith, it’s acting on the basis of believing one piece of evidence over a contrary piece of evidence. And there is at least just as much evidence that it did happen as evidence that it didn’t, something you seem to be…
I mean, I’m responding to the specific complaints relayed by this article, but beyond that, why would one think that? Especially in a country with at-will employment where the only real protection for employees (beyond anti-discrimination laws) whatever is in their contract, if they have one? His career could have…
Believing people who say a thing happened to them instead of people who say they didn’t do that thing isn’t “acting on blind faith without regard for evidence,” it is choosing which evidence to credit, something we all do when faced with contradictory information. What information do you have that makes you think…
“I don’t know what happens when people get corrupted,” says former drug trafficker Tim Allen.
The disrespect shown to Rita Ora here is unwarranted. She needs protection too!
This submersible misadventure has all the elements of one of my worst nightmares: trapped in a small, dark space and running out of oxygen. I shudder just thinking about it.
Yes, militaries use video game controllers, but not in situations where lives are at stake. They use them to control periscopes on submarines, to control drones etc... I read somewhere that some air-air refueling booms are controlled with video game controllers (that may be totally wrong). Nobody is controlling a…
I nominate Cardi B’s “go look for him” for the categories of “Dumbest Thing Anyone Has Said About The Missing Submarine,” “Dumbest Thing Anyone Has Said in 2023,” and “Dumbest Thing Cardi B Has Ever Said." I think it's a solid contender in at least two of those.
And the CEO of the submarine company said “safety is a waste."
“But his team seems to be turning on him rather than supporting him, so maybe there’s more to the story than we know.”
He’s scummy for cheating and she’s scummy for LITERALLY everything else. I feel bad for Williamson’s girlfriend more than anyone else in all of this. No, he doesn’t deserve to be harassed like this. But he still cheated. So my sympathy for him is limited.
Typical Kardashian behavior, everything is for public consumption.
I’m not a doctor, but I did watch a lot of St. Elsewhere. I’m confident doctors don’t give horrible, life-shattering diagnoses OVER THE PHONE. They call your ass in for a follow up appointment regardless of the result.
I sort of get where you’re trying to go, but your leap of logic to this being a problem of too many people being directed into STEM is...frankly wild. I mean I agree that non-technical jobs still need better pay and there needs to be more of a social safety net, but I don’t see any evidence that this kind of thing is…
This is why I hate it when my editor wants me to write about GoFundMe campaigns for local people.
What I hate more is that people need to beg on GoFundMe to pay for health care in America.
Yikes. I have no idea who she is, but just from the header picture: how heavily photoshopped (or whatever the teens use now) is that girl? No makeup can do that; her skin looks like it was cast from plastic.
Yeah, but she plays it so fucking well, and no one can do it quite like her. Some artists have range, but most don’t. The ones who can consistently do it well and make it feel fresh/relevant have their own kind of brilliance.
Is this a broken clock scenario? At 16, she SHOULD BE unfuckable. If the role needed someone fuckable, she should have lost it. So for once, saying she was unfuckable was the right call, as all 16 year old girls should be for non-age-appropriate men.
