THere’s more than just size that can affect the visually impaired. Contrast makes a big different, spacing.

why make it harder for someone? If you wish to communicate with people, make it easy for them. Or be in danger of them just deleting it.

The primary thing is remembering the visually impaired in some way. You want the person reading it to be able to read it the first time, not have to translate it into a font they can actually see.
