Do you have children? Rationally I agree with you, but as a parent I’m not sure I could just accept my baby dying without knowing I did everything humanly possible to try to save them. It’s primal.

As I have written before, my daughter died when she was five in 2011, two months after being diagnosed with an inoperable and malignant brain tumor. There is no cure for her type of tumor - DIPG - and current treatments do little more than extend life for a few months.

I would never give up fighting for the life of one of my children, rational or not. I don’t think there are any bad guys here, this is just really, really sad.

This Kathy Griffin situation has had me seething and is a prime example of why I’m hesitant to identify as a liberal/Democrat despite my politics aligning with them.

I think she’s making a mistake by apologizing, even though by decent human being logic it’s the right thing to do - the reason why Trump and his ilk get away with shit like that is because they double-down and refuse to apologize.
