You answered your own question concerning paying for XBL. People perceive value differently. For a lot of people paying $50-60 a year for the ability to play with their friends / against other people online was worth the money. And the benefit of it was quite clear, OG Xbox was the first of its kind to offer that

Today Bungie released a new patch for Destiny, a video game in which players gradually learn how to quit playing Destiny. The good news: they've fixed that awful heavy ammo bug. The bad news? Well, they've got a whole new ammo bug to tell you about.

God, i was sooo excited when MCC was announced/released. I played thru Halo 1 & 2 campaigns (BLUR cutscenes were awesomeeee) But after only being able to get into one MP match after 2 weeks of trying, i dropped it. i plan to play Halo 4 again before Halo 5 releases, but other then that....sighhhh

No, the era of handhelds is slowly (or maybe not so slowly) coming to an end. Smartphones are the new handhelds and while there will always be a group of people looking for a dedicated gaming machine, there aren't enough of those people to keep the handset profitable. You need "casual, main stream" people to buy in as

i got out before The Dark Below launched. i was tired of running in circles and i had a feeling that the DLC wasn't going to save that problem and it would seem that it didn't. I will probably jump back into Destiny if/when the DLC packs are discounted/free, but i have a feeling that won't be happening anytime soon.

this has been a fantastic way to kill the last hour of work on a friday. i've watched 10 of these so far, all of them crazy, all of them awesome! God bless you Russia, never change.

where the hell is that from?! i must know!

this seems relevant...

KoS is indeed quite good and a must watch for anime and non-anime watchers alike. i have never been a fan of 3D animation for character models in anime and this show only solidified my position even farther, but after a couple of episodes i got over it and enjoyed the show. Looking forward to season 2!

Little does he know that the purple engram is actually a lvl 16 warlock bond...

The major and very important difference between then and now (IMHO) is that HoloLens is untethered. You don't need an Xbox or PC to run it. Now in the future, assuming this thing gets a commercial release (God, i hope so) it will probably be able to interact via Wi-Fi/bluetooth with a phone/PC, opening the doors for

O_o... my god...well, ummm, better get started?

If it makes you feel any better, i didn't know what Martini livery was, so thank you for the informative post!

Another source you can use is Random Curiosity, they put together some really nice guides for each season.

lol, watched live, expected to see her on Deadspin, was not disappointed

The more I play, the more it seems like the studio's determination to shut down players' unsanctioned fun is misguided. It also feels oddly insecure, like Bungie isn't confident that their game is fun enough on its own, that they worry that if players are able to play it "wrong," to exploit loopholes to get better

i'm shocked how high the anime watching guides are ranking. Has Kotaku/Gawker considered creating an anime sub-site? It seems to be quite popular both on main Kotaku and TAY.

So Relic is one of my top 5 Halo 2 and i was REALLY excited to be able to play one-flag / one bomb on that map again...

right?! i don't plan on buying the DLC and the only thing that is making me regret it is missing out on a new Raid. Vault of Glass (despite its many problems, like the rest of Destiny) is a blast

BOOOOO!! What happened to the "Your PC must be this (non-computer related term) to run X game" titling! i could have sworn this was in the Kotaku style guide!
