TOO SOON

I already fear for the crew of this film, given that Close was a pretty troubled guy himself. I'm sure Myers will dial the asshole all the way up to eleven on set.

There's an improv group where I live that does a weekly "Harold Night" and they rarely explain what the term actually means. I guess if you actually ask them, they kick you out for not being cool enough.

Near Dark is terrific. Beautifully atmospheric, visually striking, and full of great performances. Desperately needs a quality Blu-Ray release though, and not just because of that horrible Twilight-inspired cover. The current Blu transfer is reportedly awash in digital noise reduction.

I strongly suspect they don't even watch the full movies that they spoof, just the trailers.

Christ, I tried one episode of that on Hulu and it gave me reflux. Horrible in all respects.

Anti-genius?

Rey-J! Orson Chronic! Saw Gerrera portrayed by the Saw puppet!

Ooh, hot take alert!

Four is ramshackle, but has some genuinely hilarious bits, like Nielsen addressing the UN. I later caught it on cable in Thailand (on a movie channel that airs throughout south-east Asia), and it was amusing to see just how much had been cut out.

Pretty sure it pisses off the Wayans brothers, too.

Yeah, they did that one, though there was also a terrible-looking thing called The Hungover Games (yes, also parodying The Hangover, because no-one told them you can't parody a comedy) around the same time.

Money laundering.

That Taken parody has been listed as "in production" on the IMDB for at least a couple of years now. I assume they're waiting to drop it in tandem with the Taken TV series, or something.

All too highbrow for Seltzberg, methinks, except for Jesse Jane.

So Seltzer and Freidberg are still riding off those Scary Movie coattails, despite being just two of the six writers of the first film, and only the first film.

I respect the intentions behind the show, but I often find the delivery sanctimonious. The way it's appropriated as clickbait (this site being one of the main offenders) is truly insufferable, though.

Wait, we're not going to see John Oliver TOTALLY DESTROY Trump this year?

Also, Benedict's piece was republished on Breitbart. Nuff said.

Really sad to hear this. He did more than anyone else to keep Galactica alive in those years between Galactica 1980 and the revival. I saw him at a convention in Melbourne a few years back, and his sincerity and passion was evident throughout. Got to chat to him in person later, and he was just the nicest, warmest
