"I wasn't sure why Larrick didn't just kill Jared in the woods"

I think he concluded that it would never work out between them and so he would end up unhappy and with the added guilty of betraying his country.

No, that's right. Jared was armed but Larrick did not think he was a threat. Jared shoots him in the upper shoulder, Larrick shoots Jared in the neck, Elizabeth kicks Larrick into the trunk and Philip manages to fire off the gun in his waistband killing him.

Wouldn't it be wild if they come to such an impasse about it Philip leaves her and ends up living with Martha full time?

That was a very solid finale. My only quibble was with Jared. The reveal was suitably shocking and game changing but I had a hard time understanding him. I actually thought that he himself was a Russian illegal since I swear I heard a Russian accent come out in his last moments.

They said they would but it's hard to prove anything since as Martha pointed out, everyone leaves classified shit out on the mail robot or on the floor so conceivably anyone with access to the building could steal surveillance reports.

Yes, I enjoyed Claudia's reminder that "Hello? You work for a totalitarian government! All your children are belong to us."

It wasn't just dropping the very expensive, very hard to get rifle (if you don't like guns, imagine it was similar to an expensive vase or sculpture) , it's the fact that Lester is Chaz's older brother and yet the person he is supposed to look up to is a failure and an embarrassment.

Chaz was a dick to Lester in the first episode but he did take Lester in after the murders and offered him support.

Boy partner, that's a heartstopper!

Framing your own brother for murder is pretty sociopathic. But if the kid really does have The Autism he'll need help anyway.

Malvo is Mephistopheles, he just likes to screw with people. Money is something he requires or wants but it is a secondary consideration. It's the planning things he enjoys.

I think the best we are going to get for a Malvo comeuppance is something similar to Anton Chiguir from 'No Country for Old Men'. No death, no jail but fate will smack him upside the head.

Late in posting this thought, but assuming Martha sticks around does anyone think she is crazy/desperate enough to get herself pregnant by sabotaging their birth control?

Well they need a new handler now that Kate sleeps with the fishes, so she's the logical choice to get things back in control for the Centre.

The creepy thing about the Baelish-Sansa scene was that it seamlessly went from being sweet to disturbing. Saying he killed Joffrey because he truly loved Catelyn and viewed Sansa as the daughter they could have had made her genuinely smile, and then he started touching her and gave her a kiss.

I just hope Henry manages to see 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan'.

I agree. Larrick is the antagonist the plot requires but he isn't a villain. Or at least his actions are not any more villainous than what Philip and Elizabeth have done.

I don't think Larrick is looking to harm him so much as Jared is a pretty big loose end for the KGB and Larrick could use him as leverage to get to Philip and Elizabeth.

I thought it was just comic relief since that rant felt very Archer-esque to me. I certainly found it funny.
