Being that rich there’s a whole bunch of things you can do to keep busy that aren’t work.
hah once you tell your mom, cat’s out of the bag. everyone in the mom network will know, then all their kids will know, then you get ambushed at your high school reunion and held for ransom.
That’s why you put the signed ticket in a bank deposit box and don’t let anyone else sign it.
In fairness, Ramones were fucking fantastic musicians, within narrow realm of kind of music they played. There might not be tighter, more consistent live band in history of rock music. And they were great at playing simple, energetic songs, which is all they needed to be great at.
That entire article was full of shit. He’s an ornery old man making shit up.
Yeah man, I mean, Quincy may have hung out in the studio for a session or two but he’s never “produced” a Beatles song. Ever. George Martin and, to a lesser extent, Geoff Emerick were the only producers to have ever produced the Beatles. George Martin’s role was HUGE. The Beatles don’t exist without George Martin,…
I’m not a Beatles fan. I am a bass player. Even as a non-fan, I give Paul a lot of credit for pioneering bass as a counter-melody instrument in pop/rock music. I think he did some very solid playing too, and is probably underappreciated for his bass skills in relation to the praise that he gets for songwriting, etc.
You won’t find many drummers who think Ringo was bad.
The Ramones could barely play and their music is better than all the jazz ever created.
A lot of people also confuse being “good” with being technically proficient. Somebody like Steve Vai could play circles around Keith Richards, but Richards is a better guitarist to me because he writes good riffs and plays them in a way that makes me feel stuff. Aimless meedley meedlies may be harder to play, but…
“good musicianship” is overrated. Who listens to pop music for technical virtuosity? I know that’s sometimes what metal and classical audiences want but who cares? My favorite band is the Ramones so what do I know?
It doesn’t sound like he’s saying Ringo couldn’t keep the beat, rather that he was trying and failing to do something more intricate. It is the ramblings of a loopy old man, though, so who knows
Those Beatles anecdotes are utterly full of shit.
Ringo might not be the most exciting drummer ever, but he had an impeccable sense of rhythm and timing, and I remember reading about someone going back and listening to all of the raw Beatles recordings (not the albums but the original tapes with the bad takes and all)…
In the same interview, Quincy Jones says he loves Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. So there’s that.
What about “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”? Oh, yeah, that was Eric Clapton. Continue dissing on the Beatles!
Stop feeding the troll everyone. He’s drank the Kool-Aid and short-sightedly believes net neutrality is a bipartisan issue, instead of something Americans of all demographics overwhelmingly support. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2017/12/12/this-poll-gave-americans-a-detailed-case-for-and-against-the…
How are you still here, troll?
What city in Russia are you from? LMAO !!
Wait, you mean you haven’t noticed a change since the rules that haven’t gone into effect yet haven’t been implemented?
