Synthetic materials are 100% about customer perception and 0% about animal welfare or environmentalism.  Hell the production of most synthetic seating material is worse for the environment than animal hide.  But it’s easier for OEM’s to avoid publicity problems if they switch to synthetics.

Overall it’s a really cohesive and fairly simple (three two-box) design,

Oppos: “MAKE MORE CARS! WE DON’T NEED THESE GIANT SUVs!”

Gotta be honest, that reads like a ChatGPT hallucination.

First of all, it’s absolutely hilarious that the image you picked to show this magic button is from a car that uses a lever instead of a button, and what you highlighted is just the indicator light.

I’m sorry that doesn’t make any sense.

I love that we’re spending public resources to find a bunch of billionaires stuck on the bottom of the ocean due to their own arrogance and neglect for safety. If any of them survive, they should get a huge bill for the rescue.

Nothing.  Toyota will continue to sell a wide variety of trucks/SUVs, even some that compete and overlap at the margins with each other.

I don’t like the Hornet, but let’s not pretend a slightly taller hatchback will somehow be less practical than a coupe lol.

It is paid for by a modern day monarchy that has grown rich from the oil that so happened to be under its feet which as made them insanely wealthy, while over 20% of the population

Whether you think you “knew” or not is not what matters here. When and where he wanted to deal with it is.

Trump is just a allusion to how our national ethos is about greed, and greed, both personal and political is what is really destroying our ability to have public works like this. We used to be able to build massive infrastructure, highways and dams and parks and now because a divided electorate is playing tribal

Yes, true but because we are stupid. High speed rail along major corridors would be amazing. Have you ridden trains? It’s fantastic, none of the rigamarole of flying with the ability to walk about and stretch your legs at any time. Europe does it. Asia does it. Works great. And I say this as an airline pilot!

Japan also had some growing pains to make the Shinkansen happen it went double over budget, as it happens everywhere, and like that once it’s operation people rarely remember the initial budget, it just need to be delivered first. I really do hope I can visit the US and the West Coast and not deal with the nightmare
