That is a valid concern, no doubt.

It’s okay. I’m on edge too today. It happens to the best of us. No worries friend! I, too, apologize if any of my responses (including the one I just did about Epic) seem a bit too harsh.

I was feeling snarky and being an asshole this morning. “You’re dumb for liking this popular thing” is a genuine worldview for some of the worse crowd here, and I was on edge. Still, that’s no excuse and I apologize.

It’s a joke. I love seeing my students happy and I love talking about video games with them. I just wish they could stand still without flossing. Sorry to annoy you Cliffy B.

Has there been a more shameless imitator in the history of gaming than Fortnite? Their strategy has been cribbed since Day 1. Oh and they’ve made billions using this strategy.

Oh definitely. My comment is only relevant because of the articles popping up after Ashe was released why they got her and not a black female hero yet. When I saw Baptiste I was like "oh sweet. He looks pretty cool. And I like attack oriented heroes but damn people are going to find a reason to bitch about this"

Oh, it will. People were just right now pissed because of the name of an achievement. The. Name. of. an. ACHIEVEMENT/TROPHY...

Inb4 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Straight and not Bi/Pan/Asexual. That’s gonna piss some people off.

Oof. Black but not female. That's going to piss some people off

It seems you can’t criticise a game people like because they take it as a personal insult. As if you’re insulting their character or their taste. It’s ridiculous but it’s so prevalent now.

We’ve gotten a series of games that are billed as “games as a service” with the premise that you buy in to the experience and get everything after that for free because people will just buy MTX and fund the whole thing but then launch with a dearth of content and a ton of problems. I’m talking about games like Fallout

DoesDoes this mean they're going to fix the broken engine. How about the broken nav meshing? The broken enemy spawning algorithm? The broken in game economy? The broken game play? Them laying out a "roadmap" of content without fixing overriding and inherent major underlying systemic issues is execrable.

Cause god knows, when I think “Fallout” I think “raids”.

This game was rushed out in the most half assed state of any AAA game in recent years.

Yeah this is what people don’t get. Unions don’t fix the problem automatically, but sure as hell you won’t get the kind of bloodbath that happened here. Not without a fight.

This is precisely what I mean, yeah. Unions are a tool to get workers a seat at the table, not a magic wand to make everyone rich.

Last year, Gizmodo Media Group editorial had layoffs. But because we’re unionized, we were able to get a seat at the table to ensure that we were all kept informed, and we convinced our parent company Univision to instead offer buyouts, allowing those who wanted to leave the company to leave by choice (with 4 months

The company was the most profitable it’s ever been. That’s not what failure is.

You really do march to the beat of a different drummer.
