It’s not deceptive. It’s flatly wrong. The quoted tweet “clarifies” by literally contradicting text that, at the time I “published” this comment, is still in the article. The words written by the article’s author, and published by the site, are 100% wrong.

Imagine being over forty, or even thirty, and being of the mindset that chasing digital heroin can ever be noble or character-building in any way. Good lord.

The issue with D3 was that its launch version was packed full of so many bad design decisions, there’s simply no way to know what was connected and what wasn’t.

Yes, there’s nothing different about an industry where the nepotism, and the raw money and soft influence your family has amassed, allows you to start near the top of an industry that’s already a lottery ticket fever dream, rather than spending a few summers in high school doing inventory in a plumbing business that

With the way our culture has almost completely transformed into a snake eating its own tail, do you really think there won’t be throngs of people actively selling the “watch the whole MCU up to Endgame” experience once every pi years on the logarithmic anniversary of whatever-the-fuck?

That’s so strange to me. I respect Karl Urban’s work quite a bit. He always gives 100%. That being said, I think Dredd was the only film where I had trouble recognizing him - for the obvious reason - and I’m never completely lost in his characters. His face is distinctive to me.

Don’t worry. Player annoyance with bugs, bad UI, annoying micro, and even-more-annoying lack of ability to micro will very soon get so high that it’ll integer overflow and become mind-blowing elation.

You can lust after another man’s comically long katana without loving him.

DA2 fumbled its execution all over the place. In hindsight, it was actually a grim harbinger for what would happen in ME3.

From Software is permanently immune from all accusations of profanity and insensitivity, because they can literally always say “no no no, it’s just an obscure lore thing.”

“What happens when you don’t have power?” is quite possibly the most difficult question to insert into a CRPG/JRPG and wrestle with honestly.

Unfortunately, the feeling I got from The Last Jedi was that Johnson both didn’t know and didn’t care what was going to happen next.

It’s hilarious to me that this script is insisting that “talent versus hard work” is a thing at the pro level. It’s easily been 20 years since “lazy savants” could even begin to enter a serious conversation about best-of-the-best in any of the big-money sports.

It absolutely wasn’t. Moore suggested that the Cold War only continued because Dr. Manhattan suffered a crisis of conscience/faith and refused to finish the job. Apropos of the character (he really is a profoundly unimaginative fuckup,) he’d already done so much to give the U.S. the upper hand that the USSR was

As excellent as this series was - even the finale, though I’m about to shit on its Big Message - well, the Big Message didn’t work. It failed for exactly the same reason that Big Messages so rarely work in gods-and-monsters universes.

And, you know, by using the idiom “second chance” when the show is apparently super successful.

The software industry, and the video game industry even more especially, is a fucking wild-west cesspool in terms of consumer protection laws.

Really? They were doing Raven’s origin story, and they chose to have her start off as a sheltered, awkward, baby-fat teen. The actor might have been miscast for what fans wanted as Raven, but I don’t she was a bad pick for what the writers of Titans wanted.

I think truly bad actors in larger-budget shows (that actually make it past pilot) are a rarity. Titans had a solid cast. Ritchson was certainly at or near the top, but I felt that most of the actors showed up and did exactly what the writers and directors wanted them to do.

The writers knew Paget Brewster was gold. And she is. She’s a top-tier talent, great comedic sensibility, and it’s tragicomic that she’s probably made more money from Criminal Minds than from the entire remainder of her career. I hope her sense of humor is dark enough so that she can laugh off getting paid comparative
