Kara is a writers room special. At least one or two people in the room know that she’s a bit of a gullible dum-dum, and they (almost always good-naturedly) toss in lines to remind the audience of it. Remember when she revealed that her ‘worst [or best, I guess?] fictional villain of all time’ was Voldemort? She’s a

I was thoroughly amused by the subtext though. “You know, I’m not sure I can really be my best self and truly help the community unless I give myself permission to put on a costume and rough up some motherfuckers from time to time. I mean, shit, everyone else I know is doing it.

For all my bitching about Dreamer, I have to take the opposite tack from the reviewer on this one. She’s having dreams, we’re seeing the dreams, and they feel fairly dream-like. You gotta take the scraps they give ya with Nia.

Big oof. Too many big reveals and big moments crammed into a single episode. At literally the same time we have more hand-wringing about not changing one’s own timeline, the timeline is already 100% getting changed, and then, wait for it... it’s getting changed again by Bishop in a major way.

It’d be a lot funnier if she didn’t have any, but everyone assumed she did just because she comes from a weird family. And obviously her parents are just like “yeah, that sounds like a fun school! Go have fun!”

I think a show that could easily have been called “You LOST me at The 4400" should’ve been setting off all kinds of alarm bells really early. I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did. I’m far less surprised by the spoilery rumblings I’ve been hearing from its erstwhile viewers.

I know! How dare people who invest money early into a project have any kind of a delusion that they deserve to be treated like, uh, investors?

>Try telling Disneyland you didn’t have fun on the Dumbo ride and asking for your money back.

You say that, but you’re talking about an industry - the entertainment industry writ large, even - that is utterly dependent on taking money from soon-to-be-genuinely-unsatisfied customers and refusing to offer refunds as a general rule.

You’re that eager for more proof that queer/brown people can be slotted into utterly uninspired drek just as easily as whiteymcstraights? Trust me, hang on to the delusion that they’re inherently more interesting as long as you can. Don’t poke the bear.

Pig and a lion, dude. Pig and lion. Such an unlikely couple.

Judging by this review, he wouldn’t have gotten into anything organic even if he’d gotten laid.

It’s not a coincidence that entertainment is the flashpoint for this phenomenon. These people are all lottery winners, regardless of any talent they may or may not have or work they actually put in. Some of them are beneficiaries of rank corruption, not just luck. Some of them “only” had the benefit of being trust

Jesus, this thing is a metric nuthair away from an irony explosion.

My god it’s like she didn’t even listen to Laney’s dialogue! SURREAL. SHE SAID THE THING IN THE MOVIE!

It feels sweaty to try to defend She’s All That in any way in a post-NATM world. NATM just nuked this poor bastard film from orbit. It wasn’t even a massacre. It was an erasure.

I stand by my previous suggestion of Senor Julio Respects-o-women-o.

I dunno, I think middling American vampire fiction - think Twilight for movie adaptations and The Vampire Diaries for tv adaptations - was really just watered-down and slightly repurposed Rice vibes.

Yes, but unfortunately, “being a truly independent critical thinker” exists on a list of things people are bad at right alongside “following the right people” and “leading other people responsibly.”

The Watch_Dogs 2 cribbing here is really, really fucking intense.
