Agreed. There is a ton of data left out in the link given. It is actually impossible to interpret this data without knowing more about the survey. We’d need information on which classes were surveyed, the class gender composition, the number of students in each class, and the actual grades of all students at least.

You have a link to the actual study? There’s a lot of info that was left out of the Washington Post article that I’d like to know, including information on which classes were surveyed, the class gender composition, the number of students in each class, and the actual grades of all students.

But have you looked at overall GPA between the genders? I’m not saying I’m an expert or anything, but last I heard on average women achieved more than men as far as grades go. So could you attribute some of this difference to the fact that a male getting an A is a “bigger deal” than a female getting an A?
