Who was it who recently researched the highest rate of return strategy for investing, and the highest score went to a dead person? In short, the person who leaves their balanced portfolio alone will obtain the highest returns. (High tech trader gambling and insider trading being the exception.)

^This.

A feller would find himself watching Vice Grip Garage, where Derek would resurrect an old car from the junk yard, that hasn’t moved in 20 years and drive it several hundred miles home - sometimes during the winter, with a propane heater sitting next to him.

Check out Vice Grip Garage on YouTube.

New one on Motor Trend called Flipping Bangers. It’s the standard “couple of meatheads buying junkers and trying to make a buck” (pound, actually) type of show, but they buy cars that you generally don’t see in the US. And sometimes they fuck up and fail, so that’s always interesting.

Vice grip garage!

I watch that! We just need to find a deranged man somewhere. Hmm...

Somewhere, deep the bowels of the City of Troy’s ‘bylaw enforcement division’, the same grizzled officer shuts down his computer, holsters his ticket-pad, and mutters into the void: “Looks like it’s time to get back to work”.

The left and the right agree on infrastructure but not what kind. Red projects are roads and nuclear power stations. Blue projects are trains and wind farms. They are both right and wrong. We can’t keep building roads but we can improve the ones we have. Most train projects have a terrible payback and no realistic

Should be plenty, most of the time if you charge overnight that’s way overkill already and only a Model 3 on low charge can max it out. I know a couple with two Teslas and they share a single 40amp charger just fine.

You’re not wrong. Jalops scream into our echo chambers about twisty mountain roads and save the manual and save the wagons but the reality is theoverwhelming majority of cars on the road are SUVs and it’s not because they’re cooler and trendier than sedans. I mean, for some, sure, but that doesn’t tell the whole

Did everone really decide getting into and out of non-SUVs is hard? I’m genuinely asking.

So, why aren’t people buying these? Honestly, because people are dummies still smitten with crossovers and SUVs, for some reason. I don’t get it. You wouldn’t really be giving up anything with an Arteon over an SUV you weren’t planning to off-road (and, let’s be honest, most buyers won’t even drive over a curb).

Current USA defense sustainment and foreign sales.

They probably still have significant military contracts, just not for vehicles we normally see.

You’re not 100% wrong, but..

Not saying you were being unrealistic with your offer, but I have totally (gently) told people something similar who are being unrealistic and won’t stop trying to negotiate.

It’s such a one-dimensional, narrowminded, troglodytic notion of car enthusiasm too. Mashing the ‘Go pedal’ and going fast isn’t the only way to appreciate cars.

The Mid Night club in Japan had a code... should anyone die as a result of their high-speed actions, they would disband the club immediately.

Unfortunately, such an incident came to pass, but they stuck to their word. The club, and the high-speed antics, ceased immediately. A few stragglers tried to get it going again,

I... Don’t think you actually know what whattaboutism is actually about. Pointing out exceptions to absolute declarations is not whattaboutism.
