Do they drive less because they have an electric car, or do they have an electric car because they drive less?

yup - you know how much water is saved by just fixing leaky pipes? And improvements in pressure? or better yet - you know how much water is saved just by upgrading toilets everywhere? It’s massive. And would be a great bump for the plumbing industry if they had a toilet cash for clunkers.

How am I supposed to look awesome cutting a ribbon with oversized scissors for completely invisible sewage plant upgrades? — every mayor in America

I’m the first person to pile on former President Trump for his failures as President, because there were... many. With that said, Trump inherited poor infrastructure, and then did a whole lot of nothing. Our problems aren’t going to be fixed in four years, because we’re staring down four decades (plus) of poor planning

Neutral:

At $143K for the TRX, you could get a 2019 low-mile CPO Raptor for under $60k, AND a Ferrari 360 for $75k, coming in at $135k combined! It’s this logic that makes me think I’d never buy one single expensive car - I’m also poor, so there’s that.

I had the 2004 Honda Odyssey with three beautiful kids growing up. I had a 96 Honda accord before that, sold it with 240,000 in almost new condition for $1,500 to pop down on a new van. The Odyssey was the greatest vehicle you could have for a family and we used it all the way from toddlers to hauling their gear to

there’s a shortage of gear for those who want to exercise at home as well so you’ll stay fat too

Meanwhile I’ve done three 3k+ plus roadtrips in my Model Y in the last 6 months (trips to and from parents are about that length). Additionally 250 mile round trips are not uncommon, so being able to actually non-stop it is a big improvement even in the winter (last one was 3 weeks ago to pick up my puppy).

If I were dropping $100k+ on a car, I wouldn’t so much care about range. We’d take the wife’s [fill in luxury SUV here] when we need to cover ground. This thing is beautiful.

Dare I say I prefer the looks of the Audi over the Porsche? This is the most German looking car I have seen in a long time. The whole thing looks like it was carved from a single block of aluminum.

Yes, I don’t actually hate minivans. I hate that people pretend there are no trade offs when you get one.

It’s also not because they’re all morons who the auto industry tricked.

As for Minivans being huge. This is no small (sorry) consideration. They drive big, they park big and they drink big. They are big. If you want maximum interior volume for people and cargo and can live with the trade-offs of bigness they are bloody fantastic.

“A base Sienna is definitely more expensive than a base RAV4 but I rarely see base spec’d out CUVs.”

This. Pretending to be confused with the popularity of crossovers is old. Look folks...they ARE popular. There IS a reason. It’s NOT because of some kind of mental hangup in most buyers brains you seem to claim to be immune from.

Because, for reasons I cannot begin to understand, people are buying crossovers instead. Even the best crossover is a kind of “worst of all worlds” compromise that’s too dumb to really live, too profitable to die — a warning to future generations about perverse incentives. The Honda Odyssey, on the other hand, is to

Guys...really? This is knot something to joke about!

I am going to give you a stern warning to find another head-ing for this discussion.

That would require intelligence and empathy, two things sorely lacking at the modern stealership.
